Kayla and Coach Bougie at the CMS retreat

Kayla

AGE 13 · SOFTBALL

Watch her story in the video at the top

BEFORE

Came in scared of the ball because she'd hurt her thumb.

AFTER

Now she's the #30-ranked catcher in the country, and still developing fast.

Jansen, CMS catcher

Jansen

LAST YEAR'S SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

BEFORE

Thought he probably wouldn't start varsity. A really good senior was ahead of him.

AFTER

Trained like the starter anyway. When the senior got hurt, he stepped in: varsity starter as a freshman, all-district and all-region.

Now he's the starting quarterback, and his dad says catching taught him to lead.

Dolan, high school catcher

Dolan

HS SENIOR · MASTERY

BEFORE

Stuck at a 2.05 pop time. Talking to schools, but no solid offers.

AFTER

Down to a 1.86 pop time in one session. Then threw low 1.9s and earned an offer from Colorado Mesa, where he plays now.

Chase with his Golden Glove trophy

Chase

10U · AUSTRALIA

BEFORE

Great athlete, knew very little about catching.

AFTER

Won the Golden Glove for catcher.

Leyson, 11u catcher

Leyson

AGE 12 · BASEBALL

BEFORE

Lost his travel team spot to a few other catchers.

AFTER

Now he's getting invited to guest play at Cooperstown and winning tournament MVPs.

We started working together 3 years ago.

Cam, 12-year-old catcher

Cam

AGE 12 · TENNESSEE CLINIC

BEFORE

Talented, but a few technical habits were holding him back.

AFTER

Palm-up transfer, single-knee stances and toe hang, plus the mental side of the game.

In his words: “With these new moves, I feel like it's coming in so slow.”

HOW THE PLAN WORKS

The Level Up Loop

Everything in the program is one cycle, repeated. Run it three times a week and the levels take care of themselves.

MINI MISSIONS · REPEAT UNTIL IT’S CLEAN1. Train at homeRun the sublevel’s drills2. Film yourselfThen send it in3. Coach reviewFinds the one thing to fixLevel upNext sublevel unlocks

Mini Missions are the return throw. Coaching comes back, you go again, and you only level up when the standard is met.

1

Train at home

Follow-along videos teach the routine, step by step.

2

Film yourself

Each sublevel has an example video to follow, so you know exactly what to send.

3

Coach review

Your head coach sends a slow-motion review with one clear fix, plus Mini Missions to drill it.

4

Repeat until you pass

You don't age up. You don't time up. You skill up. Repeat until your coach checks you off.

A CMS coach's detailed slow-motion blocking review

Step 3 in action. Britt's blocking review: slowed down, marked up, with the one thing to fix.

The Toothpick blocking Mini Mission drill

Then the Mini Mission. The Toothpick drill, built to fix that exact thing so the next rep is cleaner.

THE BIG THREE

The 3 questions every parent asks us

COST

“Is it worth the money?”

Private lessons usually run $240 to $400 a month, plus 4 to 8 hours in the car. The Protocol gives your catcher 20+ coaching touches a month, about $25 each, with zero drive time.

TIME

“Do we have time for this?”

20 to 45 minutes, 3x a week, in your backyard. No drive, no fixed time slot. Miss a session? Just pick up where you left off.

ABILITY

“Can my kid actually do this?”

Yes. Catchers start at their skill level, not their age, so an 8-year-old and a 14-year-old can work the same belt. Chase came in knowing very little about catching and won the Golden Glove. And the Parent Curriculum shows you how to help, even if you never caught a day in your life.

COMPARE

Lessons give attention. Camps give reps. Only one gives a system.

Coach Bougie

YOUR COACH

Meet Coach Bougie

I played college baseball at Biola as a middle infielder, then switched to catcher my junior year. Learning the position that late was hard, so I learned to break it down simple. I won the starting job and was named team captain.

Today 650K+ people follow along to learn catching. Inside the Protocol, my coaching team and I review every video and run the live calls.

Coach Lane

Video reviews and hitting feedback

Got into medical school at Duke and turned it down to stay in baseball (and skip the debt).

ABCA Rawlings Gold Glove winner, NAIA World Series with Georgetown College, then played pro in Mexico for the Vaqueros de Laguna.

Questions parents ask

Does online coaching really work for a young catcher?

Yes. Your catcher films at home, we break it down in slow motion, and they fix it the very next session. That's how Kayla, Jansen and Leyson trained.

My catcher already has a coach. Why add this?

Keep them. Team and lesson coaches usually cover everything a little. This adds a catcher-only system, a daily plan and someone checking every rep on video, so the work between lessons actually counts.

Should we wait until the offseason?

No. It's 20 to 45 minutes, 3x a week, and it works in-season or out. Belts keep stacking either way.

What equipment and space do we need?

Gear: Full catcher's gear, plus a 12 to 16 oz heavy ball. A cage, pitching machine or turf home plate mat helps, but none of them are required.

Filming: A phone or iPad on a tripod. Two phones give you two camera angles, which helps a lot. Many families also set up an iPad outside to follow along with the videos.

Space: About 20 feet covers the early levels. Backyard, garage, driveway, cage or living room all work. Full-speed throws outside help at times, but everything can be done indoors.

Help: A parent or sibling tosses balls for some drills, but plenty of the work is solo. At every level, the first thing we build is a routine your catcher can do on their own.

Is this for softball too?

Yes. Some of our best students are softball catchers. The mechanics are the same ones high-level college catchers use.

Who should be on the call?

Your catcher plus every parent who'll help decide. Everyone hears the plan at once, so nobody has to relay it.

Is there a contract? Can we cancel?

Plans start with a 3-month commitment, then go month to month. To cancel after that, just reach out to us.

The 30-Day Do the Work Guarantee covers your first month. But we're looking for families who are all in, so if you're doing this, commit all the way.

Inspiration has an expiration.

Start while your catcher is fired up. It begins with a quick application.

Next season's spot gets earned in the reps your catcher puts in right now. Every week without a plan is another week of the same old habits.
